Resident Evil 2 as you
should have already know has been directly ported from the Dreamcast to the Gamecube with only a 5% better texture
mapping, not much of a deal when you consider this is an age old (but great) game, especially if its around £20 new!
So I propose that a remake
of this classic with a few extra features (stated below) and a fuller plot to be included as a kind of 'Special Edition' of
Resident Evil 2. Features such as;
- The Resident Evil 2 remake (now to be
known from now on as RE2:CotD, standing for Resident Evil 2: City of the Dead) should co-inside with the RE3 remake (now to
be known as RE3: FN, short for; RE3: Final Nemesis), for example the first disc of RE3 can be played before RE2, anything
you do will change the circumstances that you play in the First disc in RE2: CotD.
- You can choose between Leon and Claire
on the same disc (REmake/RE1 style).
- Obviously the photo-realistic graphics
in REmake and RE4.
- The graphics are not pre-rendered, but live
rendering, the camera will still be fixed unless MR X or Birkin is chasing you then it switches to action mode, this
will also make the environment more interactive and to some extent, destructible.
- Rendezvous points allow Leon and Claire
to swap players temporarily, meaning whoever takes a break can regain their strength, and will enable tasks that your character
cannot do, able to do, For example Claire having a lock-pick, will be able to break into areas that Leon needs to get, and
if a fire needs lighting, or a heavy instrument needs moving to solve a puzzle.
- Leon and Claire, will not have similar
puzzles to do in either scenarios, their success will mean your survival and visa versa.
- A Quick First Person View will be available
to allow you to aim and get head shots.
- Crimson Heads will feature, but that is
not the last stage of a zombie, the next stage? Licker!
- Finally Melee weapons such as, knife (both)
Axe (Leon) Machete (Claire)
and both will have access top fire extinguishers that they can swing about.

Resident Evil 3 as you
already know has been directly ported from the Dreamcast/or Playstation with its poor character model graphics, and its nonsense
areas such as the RPD being different 24 hrs before RE2, where you can access areas that you can't in RE 3, and enemies not appearing
where they are in RE2, and finally you can access areas that you need keys in RE2, how does that make sense?
Anyway I'd see features
such as;
- Whatever you put in your item box in the
first disc of RE3: FN, you will be able to access in RE2 first disc,
- What ever you do (like solve puzzles in
the RPD) in the first disc of RE3 will mirror all the conditions of RE2, so if you unlock all the doors for Leon and Claire
then you they will be Unlocked for Leon and Claire in RE2!
- Live selection will feature more heavily,
for example you can choose to save Brad and Fight Nemesis (this will obviously change the character model for the super zombie
in RE2 that enables you to change your clothes) or Leave Brad to die and run into the RPD or Distract Nemesis while Brad
runs off, then either Run into the RPD with him or fight the Monster.
- Action views like when fighting or being
chased by Nemesis will allow the player to go into a full 3D world, meaning that like in RE2:CotD you can interact with your
environment, but while in a normal mode situation, the camera angles are fixed, but there is no pre rendering.
- First Person View can be activated to
get head shots.
- Multiple endings such as Brad Alive (Brad
flies helicopter), Carlos Alive, Jill Alive. Or Brad Dead, Carlos Dead Jill Alive, (Barry in helicopter). Carlos Alive Jill
Alive (Carlos/Barry flying helicopter) etc.
- Crimson heads also feature and so do Lickers
and any other Monster (apart from Mr X and Birkin) from RE2:CotD appear. Zapping System does feature, but it is only available
for when Brad is alive.
- When you complete the first disc (up to
where the train crashes) you are given a choice to Insert Second disc of RE3 or insert the first disc of RE2.
- Raccoon
City will not be like in RE3 (original) it will be more complex and will not be joined together by doors.
- Last but not least, You are not responsible
(the game doesn't end if they die) for Carlos and Brad's deaths.
