Resident Evil 4

The Story, The gameplay, the Characters...

The Story: Leon S Kennedy a Rookie Cop has escaped Raccoon City, 6 years later he is working under a secret organization run by the president himself, his job is to protect the presidents’ family.

When the president’s daughter (Ashley) gets kidnapped, it is up to Leon to locate and rescue her, on his way to a location that seems to be a positive area of where the President’s daughter (Ashley) is being held, his escorted jeep is attacked…

Stumbling into a secluded village Leon finds that the Villagers here are far from co-operative, in-fact they are homicidal!

Leon must survive the onslaught of the crazed villages and find Ashley, will he find her, and if so, will they get out alive?

The Game-play: The controls are the same as the previous Titles, but now with an improved action button, this allows Leon to:

  • Jump out Windows
  • Kick Enemies
  • Sprint
  • Swim
  • [OTHER ACTIONS] These actions will depend on the situation and the environment, this also goes for the above actions.

The villagers are not human but are not Zombies, the AI of the villagers is very realistic, for example if you shoot them in the leg, they will limp, they also can trick you by pretending to be a friend and then turn on you, they also communicate with each other and set traps (you will not be able to set traps yourself), you will be attacked by 10 - 20 villagers at the same time, half-way through the game you meet Ashley, this means she has to follow you and villagers will take her back, meaning you need to shoot a villager while not shooting Ashley, which brings be to the point  of the clever camera angles, one of which can act as a semi first person view, making it easier to aim, also, you can aim anywhere, so no more wishing your character could just shoot the guy in the head, you can now!

Villagers also have Melee Weapons such as axes, picks, scythes, basically anything they can grab hold of and at last no door opening sequences!!!! ^_^

Bosses are very tough for example the villagers also release an ogre to take care of Leon, but it also takes care of the villagers, another Boss is a Sea creature that will be able to swallow Leon whole...

Ashley is also a playable character as it says in the IGN interview.

Herbs, Typewriters and F.Aid Sprays (including a red one that heals and increases the health bar).

The controls are as follows:

A: Action/Attack

B: Run

C-Stick: Free Look

D-Pad: Switch View

D-Stick: Move

R: Ready Weapon/Dodge Ogre

L: Dodge Ogre (Secondary Action?)

Y: Menu

X: Cancel

Start: Pause/Config

A new look to Leon's (and Ashley's) health and Ammo has been given to the game, a health bar and ammo count in plain view of the player, allowing the player to keep track of their status, instead of having to go to the menu every time.

PLEASE NOTE: If your TV doesn't support 16:9 you will have a black bar above and below the screen.

Weapons are as follows:

  • Grenades
  • Grenade launcher
  • RPG
  • Various Handguns
  • UZI
  • Sniper Rifle
  • Shotgun
  • Harpoon

The Roomers:

These statement(s) have not been confirmed:

There will be someone from one of the previous titles it the game, most probably Carlos, as in the video footage it introduces who looks and talks like Carlos. As the screenshot shows.

Another thing backing up this statement is he tells Leon something along the lines of: "It's a small world isn't it" This could refer that they were both involved in the Raccoon Incident.

THIS ROOMER IS NOT TRUE AS THE CHARATER IS CALLED LUIS!
